Our monthly group meetings provide up to date information and practical help dealing with the physical, emotional and financial impact of breast cancer and coping strategies. This three hour event covers a wide range of topic such as cancer fatigue, coping with menopause, body image, fertility etc. Health professionals give their expert opinions on medical topics.
Ladies diagnosed with breast cancer usually feel isolated and have multiple complex reactions to diagnosis .Sebeccly Cancer Care knows it’s a difficult time understanding breast information and coming to terms with the situation. Through our fundraising and awareness activities for women living with breast cancer we provide peer support early on from diagnosis. Quite a number of women flee from treatment due to fear and misinformation through the peer support programme we have encouraged and supported women start and complete treatment.
We create awareness on breast cancer survivorship and provide a message of hope to the ever increasing numbers of breast cancer survivors and cancer stake holders in Nigeria through our radio program and other media tools.
Breast cancer treatment may involve surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment which all affect a woman’s body image. We help women restore their confidence and feminity during and after treatment via information sessions, subsidized sales of wigs, breast prosthesis, prosthetic lingerie, swimwear etc. Free prosthesis and bra fitting services are also available.
This is a forum which provides information and support aimed at addressing the needs of ladies living with breast cancer across Nigeria. It allows these women to meet and interact with other women in similar situations and provides them with the opportunity to participate in discussion groups and well being sessions which help them successfully navigate breast cancer journeys. The forum is managed by medical and non medical experts including trained breast cancer survivors who graciously share their time, experiences and stories.
