Our People
Sebeccly employs a team of dedicated, professional staff to run and support all of our services on a day-to-day basis - but the ultimate legal and financial responsibility lies with the Board of Trustees. In addition to formal duties, such as approving the annual budget and accounts, the trustees actively assist the Operational team, medical advisory and advocacy committee in setting the overall strategic direction for the charity and everything we do to help people with breast cancer. As is common with most charities, all of our trustees are volunteers who give a considerable amount of time, energy, ideas and enthusiasm to the charity free of charge. Our board of trustees function is to govern and advise in our efforts to support breast cancer research and community health programs including education, screening and treatment programs..Several of our team members have experienced a diagnosis of, and treatment for, breast cancer. It is a key requirement of our governing document that a proportion of our team should have faced the physical and emotional challenge of this disease themselves. It ensures that we continue to place people with breast cancer - those who access and use our information and support services - at the centre of everything we do.
