Breast Helplines

The breast helpline is a confidential service providing breast cancer information service. It is staffed by cancer information specialists and volunteers with a personal or professional experience of breast cancer. The goals are to provide medical information, definitions of complicated issues, one-to-one counseling over the phone on any aspect of breast cancer or breast health ,dispel myths and referral services.

The breast helpline team is based in Lagos but works with a rich network of volunteers and breast cancer experts across Nigeria, to cater for referrals. This service is accessible to all and ensures that information on breast cancer reaches everyone. The helpline receives calls from people in many different situations and backgrounds, including:

•Women and men with breast cancer or breast health concerns

•Friends, relatives, partners and children of people with breast cancer

•Health professionals.

To make the service friendly as possible, we are working on providing professional interpreter services for(Hausa ,pidgin and Igbo) for any caller whose first language isn't English.
